Betting on Australian Open | How to bet on tennis?

The Australian Open begins on Jan. 16 and is an opportunity for bettors to bet on tennis. Currently, Novak Djokovic is the favourite for the final victory. On Sportbookies, we expect to provide daily tips on which tennis players will come out on top.

In 2022, we gained experience with how to bet on tennis. As with football, it has turned out that betting on wins is too risky in many cases. It is therefore smarter to bet, in exciting matches, on winning games or sets.

Tip 1: Set betting

When major players go up against each other in Australia, you can often bet on the least favoyrite player to win a set. This often produces a nice odd and is very promising. Often this odd is between 1.30 and 1.85 for a set win.

Tip 2: Betting on games

The second tip we give is that you can bet on number of games. At the ATP Finals, we used this. Taylor Fritz served like a gecko there and he played a tie-break minimum almost every match. You can bet he grabbed 11 games against Novak Djokovic. Of course he grabbed those.

Tip 3: Bet on the fifth set

The third tip during a Grand Slam are five-setters. Those turned out in 2022 to be more than 90 percent won by the player who is higher placed or by the player who turned out to have significantly more experience. This is only interesting for live betting, of course, because you don't know in advance whether it's going to be a five-setter or not.
