FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are paired with each other in the semifinals of the Copa del Rey. The result of the cup draw means that there will be as many as five official Clásicos this season.
The outward match in the Cup semifinals is scheduled for March 1 or 2 in Madrid, followed by the return match in Barcelona on April 4, 5 or 6. The other semifinal is between Osasuna and Athletic Bilbao.
Earlier this season, Barcelona and Real Madrid already faced each other twice in official matches. On Oct. 16, Real Madrid beat their archrivals in the league game at the Bernabéu (3-1), after which Barcelona won the final of the Spanish Super Cup in Riyadh with the same figures. On March 19, the two teams will face each other again in the league at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona and Real Madrid also played a practice match in the United States during their preparation for the season in July, which the Catalans won 1-0.
