Bayern München wants to beat Erik ten Hag to the punch and is in talks with defender

Min-Jae Kim can have his pick of clubs in Europe's top tier to join. Napoli's central defender has a clause in his contract that makes him highly sought after. The South Korean can be acquired from Naples for 50 million euros. Manchester United was already showing interest, and now Bayern München is also going after the player.

Kim had a fantastic season. The 26-year-old central defender was brought in from Fenerbahce last summer for 18.35 million euros and played almost every match from the start. He won the championship with Napoli, and his market value increased to 60 million euros. Starting from July 1st, he can be acquired for 50 million euros, and Bayern Munich plans to activate that clause in the contract, according to Sky Sports Deutschland.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzia reports that the German champions are even in pole position. It was previously announced that Erik ten Hag sees the defender as the ideal candidate to replace Harry Maguire. Bayern Munich is aware of that and wants to do business with Napoli as soon as possible. Bayern is reportedly already in talks. Kim could become the partner of Matthijs de Ligt in the center of defense. The club is also interested in Moises Caicedo of Brighton & Hove Albion.

The potential transfer of Kim is not only good news for Napoli's treasurer. Feyenoord can also look forward to receiving many millions, as Napoli sees David Hancko as the replacement for the South Korean. The Italian club is reportedly willing to pay 18 million euros, while Rotterdam's club wants around 23 million euros for the 25-year-old Slovakian.
