Novak Djokovic has qualified for the quarterfinals of the Australian Open on Monday morning CET. Despite his slight upper leg injury, the Serb seems fit enough to win the Australian Open again. He easily sidelined Alex de Minaur in three sets.
Djokovic is rightly the towering favourite and, with an odd of 1.44 for the final victory, he also already has the confidence of the bookmakers. And that makes sense, because who else can give him a hard time? You would say that only Sebastian Korda, Andrei Rublev and Stefanos Tsitsipas can still make things difficult for him.
Tsitsipas appears to be sole challenger
However, Rublev and Korda do have very little experience at a Grand Slam. It is only the second time Rublev has reached the quarterfinals at a Grand Slam, whereas Korda is experiencing all this for the first time. The further we get into the tournament, the more important experience will become.
In that regard, Tsitsipas appears to be the only candidate left to really challenge Djokovic. The Greek has already reached the final of a Grand Slam once in 2021 at Roland Garros. And that at twenty, while looking like he just turned sixteen. What a sensation!
