The PDC has announced the eight participants in the Premier League of Darts. The world's top four are automatically seeded and in addition, the organization gave four wildcards to Jonny Clayton, Nathan Aspinall, Dimitri van den Bergh and Chris Dobey.
World champion Michael Smith, Peter Wright, Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price currently occupy the first four places on the PDC Order of Merit and were thus obviously assured of a place in the prestigious tournament.
The Premier League plays out weekly on Thursdays between Feb. 2 and May 25. Each week it plays from a quarterfinal to a winner, with a final playoffs in May fought by four players. On April 20, it's the turn of the evening at Ahoy Rotterdam.
