Roland Garros kicks off in two weeks, and judging by form, it will undoubtedly be a prey for young Carlos Alcaraz. The 20-year-old Spaniard won the Madrid ATP tournament last week, which already marked his fourth title in 2023. After Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic is the favourite, although he was recently eliminated early in Bosnia. He also has little rhythm on clay. Rafael Nadal, the undisputed king of Roland Garros, is third on the list of contenders.
Alcaraz actually lost a set to Jan-Lennard Struff in the Madrid final. The losing finalist impressed in Madrid with his aggressive style of play on clay. The German is not among the contenders but could be interesting to bet on in individual matches. Furthermore, only Jannik Sinner along with Holger Rune seem to be able to make things difficult for Alcaraz in Paris.
Stefanos Tsitsipas is not in form, Rafael Nadal has not played a match since January due to injury and will start without any match rhythm. Still, he is always among the favourites at Roland Garros. Daniil Medvedev is getting better on clay, but does not seem good enough yet. Men like Borna Coric and Lorenzo Musetti could go far in the tournament because of their qualities on clay. Dutchmen Botic van de Zandschulp and Tallon Griekspoor are not expected to do much.
