Overview of times Monaco Grand Prix 2023

After the cancelled Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the drivers can immediately get ready for the next challenge. It is also immediately a big mental challenge for the drivers, as there will be racing on the streets of Monaco. As Formula One remains in Europe, the times for the Grand Prix weekend in the principality correspond to the times for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

In the past, the days of racing in Monte Carlo differed from the other races held in Europe. In fact, the first two free practice sessions were held on Thursdays, but since 2022 that has changed. Now the first sessions of the weekend are simply run on Friday and the drivers have time on Thursday to talk to the media. The full schedule for the Monaco Grand Prix can be found below.

Third free practice Saturday  12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Will Red Bull's run be broken?

The Monaco Grand Prix is always circled in red on the calendar by teams and drivers. All drivers dream of winning the race in the principality, but this season the chances of anyone other than Max Verstappen or Sergio Pérez winning a race seem slim. Still, the Monaco Grand Prix is always special in different ways. The tight street circuit demands a lot from the drivers, but also from the teams. The set-up has to be perfect on Saturday, as final positions are often determined during the qualifiers.

So a mistake can have painful consequences, and a mistake is easily made in Monaco. In addition, Aston Martin also has hopes of capitalizing on the AMR23's strengths. The British stable's car is good in the slow corners and in Fernando Alonso the team have a driver who can get everything out of the car. Expectations at Aston Martin are therefore high, as they are at Mercedes. The German racetrack are already bringing the major update package in Monaco and will hope to dethrone Red Bull for the first time this year.
