Alejandro Garnacho speaks words of praise of his teammate Lisandro Martinez. The Manchester United prodigy is from Argentina, just like central defender Garnacho , who transferred from Ajax. Garnacho says Martinez always tries to help him with everything. "He is like a father to me," the striker said.
"From the first day I walked into the locker room, my fellow players treated me like one of them, even though I am the youngest in the group," the 18-year-old Garnacho told the official channels of Manchester United. When asked if there are any players who feel like a brother: "Lisandro Martínez is actually more like a father to me," the left winger replied. "When he has to scold me, he scolds me, but when I do things right, he also says so. He always tries to help me with everything."
Martinez, at 25 years old, is only seven years younger than the striker, who also mentions the experienced veterans. "I am also quite close to Bruno Fernandes, he also tries to help me as much as possible," Garnacho continued. "And David de Gea is a good friend of mine. We speak the same language, of course. He is a good player with whom I get along well. They help me a lot."
Garnacho already made his debut last year under Ralf Rangnick, but is experiencing his absolute breakthrough under Erik ten Hag. This season, he played 32 games, in which he scored 5 goals and provided 6 assists. He is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, which is a hardship for both himself and his Dutch coach. It is not yet known when the Argentine will be able to return to the field.
